It often takes several days to shoot an ad for television, and considering all the people and equipment, every minute is costly. You want a professional handling that pricey media you have on your hands. You want somebody who can work with shots that didn't pan out the way you anticipated and one that can find the golden shots you didn't know you had. You usually have a vision for what you want your ad to look like and you need someone who can execute that for you. I spent 10 years of my life working for a company editing commercials for the Portland Jetport, Amtrak Downeaster, Agren Appliance, The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, Maine State Lottery, Vermont State Lottery and several colleges like the University of Southern Maine and the Community College System of New Hampshire. Some of my best memories are when clients would come in and sit with me in the edit suite. We would share stories and laugh as we collaborated on their project.
